"I am not sure where to start with this review... I have put off reading this for some unknown reason. I hadn't read anything of Alessandra's before. So I didn't know what to expect. When the opportunity came to read Do Not Disturb (the second book in this series), I jumped on it. I am surely kicking myself for not reading this sooner!

If you follow my reviews, I tend to like the dark reads so much more than anything else! These twisted and demented books are what gets my blood pumping and my mind distracted from everything else around me. I devour them.

The Girl in 6E is one of those dark, twisted and original books that you won't be able to put it down. I was so intrigued by the main character, Deanna. She is a unique and very resourceful character. You won't come across another like her.

Deanna has shut herself off from the rest of the world. She is not only protecting herself by doing so, but she believes that she is protecting the public also. She has to fight the urge daily to know kill someone. She believes she is sick in the head. She believes that she was born to murder everyone.

In order to support herself, Deanna has become a cam girl. An honest living, right? Well it is one that has allowed her to re-invent herself and never leave her apartment. Then, the unthinkable happens... She has no choice. In order to save someone, she must leave her sanctuary for the first time in years. She must also kill. She knows what needs to be done.

Jeremy... Deanna's UPS delivery guy. He is intrigued by this woman he has regularly delivered packages to for years. He has never seen her. He wants to see her. He wants to know who she is. Why does she hide? Then, that fateful day comes. He sees her. Meets her. Now he wants more.

This book is so different and twisted. It is dark in just the right way. Alessandra really won me over with this book. If you haven't read this book, trust me, you really should. It is one of those books that will leave you with a hangover for weeks! It is so brilliant and written full of skill. This is one of my top picks.... of all time!"

  • I have never read anything by this author before, and I was totally blown away by this book!
The heroine has been through horrific trauma and seeks to cope the best she can. And in the end, she is strong enough to set her own troubles aside and focus on helping someone else in even more dire need. And yes, when she sets her mind to it, she can be beautiful and sensual beyond your wildest dreams!
The hero likewise is strong, caring and kind, and more than a little obsessive in just the right way. The perfect man for our girl!
The author has a way of mixing first and third person narratives that really draws you into the characters' minds. Her descriptions of them and of how they perceive the world around them are so realistic, it is all completely believable! She also succeeds at maintaining the high level of suspense from the first page to the very end.
Though there is a lot of sensuality going on throughout the story, it is pretty much exclusively via webcam. And, despite the somewhat vivid descriptions, it is generally presented in a light-hearted way. This is an erotic novel in the sense that there is a lot of sensual activity in the background, but it is not a book full of steamy, titillating sexual encounters between the main characters.
My only disappointment, and the reason I couldn't give it the full 5 stars, was that the romance part is left unresolved...
    This is my detailed review
    Heroine 5 stars
    Hero 5 stars
    Plot 5 stars
    Writing style 5 stars
    Romance 3 stars
    Suspense 5 stars
    Sensuality 3 stars
Ending The suspense part is complete, but the romance part is not
Would I read another book by this author? I'm definitely going to read Part 2!
  • “They believe what they see, because they want to believe. They want to believe that I am normal. And for the brief moments I am with them, I fool myself into thinking the same thing.”

It's interesting how I enjoyed disturbing characters. I loved Joe from You, Dexter from the TV show and now, I like Deanna Madden.

Deanna Madden lost her family in a gruesome murder when she was seventeen. Deanna was not at home when it happened and afterward, she was sent to live with her grandparents until she was able to be on her own.

In the present, she has a self-imposed prison. Three years after she lost her family and at twenty-one, she makes her living as a webcam girl. She sells virtual sex to men and women without judgment. Why? because her fantasies are completely different. She fantasizes about murdering people. She believes she has the same tendencies as her mother and in order to avoid harming another human being, she rather isolates herself. This doesn't mean she doesn't have a huge collection of knives and guns just ready to use if someone comes inside her apartment. After all, a girl needs to know how to defend herself, right?

Then, a regular client starts making her uncomfortable and a young girl goes missing, she knows she has to interfere. She has the money, the means and the weapons to do so. She just needs to LEAVE her apartment.

I was happily surprised with The Girl in 6E. I love suspense and Alessandra Torre does a great job with this one. The twists were not overly shocking but just right for the story. There's a hint of a romance and I'll like to see a little more of Deanna and Jeremy. I think they have potential. Of course, unless she decides to kill him first.

    Cliffhanger No
